Dr Fabiana F. Ferrara, scientist at Takis Biotech, participated at FISV 2016 (Italian Federation of Life Sciences) with the selected oral presentation:

"Human lung adenocarcinoma cell cultures derived from malignant pleural effusions as model system to predict patients chemosensitivity" outlining the importance of using Malignant Pleural Effusion (MPE) cells derived from NSCLC patients in order to:

1) extensively characterize them and predict the efficacy of chemotherapy in the clinical setting;

2) by combining MPE-derived primary cultures with their genomic testing, identify patients eligible to trials with novel targeted agents.
